Siobhán Shinnors
BSc DipYoga MYTTC MYTI

Siobhán began studying yoga in 1994. During her travels she studied under different teachers and explored different yoga styles. While in London she was introduced to Sivananda Yoga. She sat her first 10 day Vipassana meditation (the art of sitting in stillness), in 1998 –and is now a regular practitioner. In March 2002 Siobhan qualified as a Sivananda Yoga Instructor and returned to Ireland to teach (June ’02 – present). She currently offers classes for all levels of experience as well as pregnancy and children’s classes in the Limerick and Nenagh region. She has been contracted to provide in-house yoga courses within schools, companies and community projects. She has also taught yoga in a voluntary capacity. Siobhán is committed to ongoing education, and has taken additional training in specialised areas such as yoga for back problems and pregnancy yoga. When the opportunity arises she also returns to Sivananda Ashrams (place of retreat and spiritual study) to deepen her practice. She is a member of YTTC(Yoga Therapy and Training Centre) and YTI (Yoga Therapy Ireland).

Siobhán has travelled extensively all over the world. She holds a BSc in Information Systems and Japanese. She ran a limited company working as a Network Technician while in London. While living in Japan she competed for the Irish-Japan Athletic Team and studied Tai Chi.

Siobhán's other interests are diet and the philosophy of prevention rather than cure through eating well. In her years of study through books, courses and yoga training she has explored many different diets learning much through direct experience about the effects food can have on us physically, mentally and emotionally. She is currently studying to be a Master Herbalist with the Irish School of Herbal Medicine. She runs yearly workshops/retreats on yoga and nutrition and often including sound healing (didgeridoo, flute, voice and tibetan Gongs) as a way of relieving tension and creating awareness.

Siobhán’s life experience, her continued sincere practice and her commitment to the yoga lifestyle are manifest in her teachings.

Siobhán is based in North Tipperary
